The purpose of supervision is for the practitioner to
receive positive support by reviewing their clinical
work and professional development. As the supervisor, I
assist the practitioner to identify difficulties in
their work, help to resolve problems that occur in the
work environment, encourage professional development and
identify where personal issues may impact on client
work.
Being supervisor means that I am an experienced clinical
practitioner who provides supervision on the clinical
work of the supervisee, as opposed to the organisational
supervision provided by a line manager. Where the
supervisee is in private practice, I am also able to
assist with matters of business.
I ensure that the practitioner has, through monthly
appointments, a regular opportunity to reflect on their
work, broaden their choices of intervention and
strategies, to gain greater insight into their client
work and discuss how their work impacts on them.
I provide a safe place to discuss professional codes and
ethics in relation to the work with the client while
keeping the organisational (workplace and BACP or
others) guidelines and expectations in mind.
Confidentiality of the supervision is provided on the
same basis as in client practice – the content remains
confidential on a need to know basis as stated in our
contract with one another and, if the supervisee has
one, their employer.
My preferred way of working is eclectic as my work is
always tailored to fit the client. My qualifications are
in Humanistic Counselling, TA Psychotherapy,
Existentialism and Supervision. Additional training :
Working with Experiences of Sexual Abuse, Working with
Clients Presenting Sexual Issues, Working with Aspergers
Syndrome.
I also have extensive experience in working with clients
with personality disorders, trans-gender issues, sex
addictions, group work in mental health settings and
many other areas.
If you wish to enquire about any further types of work I
have experience of, please don’t hesitate to enquire –
email and texts are always replied to. |
